A prime label is exactly what the name suggests: a specialized, high quality custom label, designed to set your product apart from the competition. Prime labels are often the principal means that consumers use to identify products, so yours need to be distinctive and attractive. Particularly eye-catching are prime multi-color labels that use various color combinations in conjunction with specialized materials to make a product stand out on crowded store shelves.
While they may look reasonably simple at first glance, prime multi-color labels are in fact somewhat complicated, requiring a thorough knowledge of label manufacturing to get just right. Most consist of four separate layers of material: a basic paper feedstock overlaid with a laminate or topcoat, and underlain by an adhesive and a liner. The type of materials prime labels are made from depends on what they will be used for, and the type of environments they are expected to face. The feedstock and adhesive used for a frozen entree package would differ, for instance, from the feedstock and adhesive used to create a prime multi-color label for a motor oil container, and the label for a bottle of wine might be different from both.
